Jan – Jun 2018 Financial Independence Mindset Income Report

I had occasion this past spring to review Google Analytics and Google Search Console results and noted some positive trends that made me feel as though I were on the cusp of breakout/breakthrough financially. Sort of a feeling of inevitability with regards to income generation from the business.

I am an avid bowler and perhaps a description of this feeling that athletes can relate to is when you are putting in time and effort in meaningful practice you begin to feel your body, mind and technique aligning such that you are grooved. You take the ‘grooved’ feeling into competition and though the results don’t initially show, you know that you know that super high scores in the case of bowling or great fairway and greens play in golf or super low times in swimming are on their way and you are on your way to peaking at your craft. That’s the type of financial inevitability that I am referring to.

Well, fast forward a few months during which I’ve worked harder at Pinterest and put out a new Youtube video and have continued to search for and find other not so passive ways to earn funds.

Thru these efforts, I’ve seen some Pinterest follower growth, Youtube subscriber growth and small monetary upticks. But more importantly, the ideas are flowing for content creation. That, I know, will translate into traffic and financial growth. It’s that feeling of inevitability all over again.

With that here is my 1st half of 2018 Income Report:

As I noted on my Income Report page, for the next several reports I will provide semi-annual status. With respect to specific income reporting, I’m taking an approach of indicating my status towards income earned each day as opposed to a gross or net income amount. That is, my goal is to earn income every day of the year. Passive income preferably but Active Income is welcome and sought after as well. For the year-end report, I will compute out average earnings per day and split out the income percentages between passive, active and total to show the relative comparisons. My initial goal is for the business to self-finance, i.e. the hosting fees, domain registrations, registered agent service, post office box fees, and other expenses to be covered solely by income produced from the business. That’s my initial threshold for success in creating a self-perpetuating business entity. Below you’ll find that the first six months income was derived from the following sources:
