Present Action for Future Results

Present Action for Future Results

This post is a two for one as I have been busy with the day job doing training that encroached upon my normal evening routine. It’s also fun looking back to where your mindset was then and where it is today. I wish I could recapture (and bottle) the feeling of that July 20th day walking thru Knoxville in near 100-degree heat, listening to Pat…

9/14 (Present Action for Future Results – 1)

What a difference a week or so makes. The extra requirements at work have ended, the cold is gone and I have the various accounts linked. I am now fully prepared to take present action for future results. Tomorrow will be the official first day of deriving income as my LLC. Why tomorrow, well the funds I transferred to Prosper become available so I can turn on my investment program. Likewise today I purchased my Bluehost service (gave a little back to Pat). I’ll begin to peruse around the website creation tools and try to mesh them with my ideas for a niche site. I’ll save the affiliate stuff until next November as far as applying, perhaps, by then I will have some traffic to the site. The key thing now is that if I get started taking present action then I will discover ‘other’ things/opportunities that I can’t even imagine so let’s just get started. It’s crazy less than two months ago I had that pivotal walk thru downtown Knoxville and heard Pat Flynn’s SPI podcast for the first time. It truly changed my mindset and gave me the push I needed to press thru to this beginning. How do you say thank you to someone you’ve never met and will likely never meet who had the strength of personality, conviction, and charisma to convince you to take a step forward to a new beginning???

10/3 (Present Action for Future Results – 2)

Wow, it’s been a ‘minute since I’ve written anything. Had some definite progress and lots of procrastination. I’ve figured out that I needed a weekly planner/schedule to ensure I don’t sit down to work and not have a specific agenda/purpose in mind. The Prosper account is set up, I’ve transferred funds and now have 12 loans that have closed and will soon be receiving payments within the next 30 – 60 days. So the passive income initiative has now fully begun. This is a clear example of present action leading to future results.

I’ve transferred another xxx dollars into the company due to the overtime work from the main job. I’ll invest $xxxx into Prosper (will be slightly overweight there) and then plan to invest xxx with Optionshouse.com presumably around Christmas. One thing at a time right? So as far as the website, phew. I’m learning a whole new language so it’s going rather slowly. Plus I’ve had a severe lack of discipline. I did find that as I was developing the first site, there wasn’t a lot of information there. C’est la vie this site is for learning how to create websites (for future use). I found a really valuable resource via Tyler Moore’s how to make a WordPress site. It’s a 2+ hour long YouTube video on creating a high-quality website. WordPress had a video that they provided for getting started thru their service but it was ‘crap’ compared to Tyler’s. Hopefully, I can have the site design completed by mid-month. And then turn it on and attempt to drive improvements thru Analytics. I’m pretty sure that I will have Google Adsense on right away (goal for the site is $1/day). I need to get the visitor count up before adding affiliate links. I do need to review the books ‘like’ this week so I don’t lose myself in the financial accounting aspect. So to summarize, I’ve started and have initiated the easiest thing first, something I’m very familiar with, investing in loans thru Prosper. I’ve begun work on designing the website but it’s slow going due to the learning curve. I’ve been jotting down other ideas but need to get these added to my work planning document. Oh, one last thing I did here; on one of the SPI podcasts, I did learn that there was another program at Amazon where they would basically act as a store for you. The idea is to find discontinuities between pricing for goods in stores using their app and placing those products on their website at competitive prices that still guaranteed a profit. Seems kind of onesy-twosy but worth looking into. I need to download the app to my phone somehow to begin testing scanning products on sale in the community.
