Wow just reading back thru my writings from July brought forth that initial excitement and buzz I had when first listening to Pat’s podcasts. So I had another unavoidable but significant and personally draining delay that impacted the setting up my business. There was basically a ‘catastrophe’ at the day job that necessitated my being at the facility for 6 days/wk, 10 hr/day to aid in the recovery. I won’t go into details here but suffice it to say the activity was inordinately draining, plus I caught a cold. Nevertheless, I did work on some things. I set up the bank account, Paypal account, Prosper account and Options Trading account. I am working thru the final stages of linking the bank account to the investment accounts for transfer of funds. Let me stop here and say how involved that process has been. The biggest time drag is that the bank and investment accounts have to confirm one’s identify personally and the legality of the corporation (terrorism and fraud prevention). It does truly make one realize that the corporation is indeed a separate entity. You could be in business and have the name registered with the state and be operating as a Sole Proprietor but you are not legally separate from your business in that instance and can easily commingle personal and business funds. The LLC is a metaphysical wall.
Anyway, I digress. In addition to the accounts, I informed the family about the incorporation. I got different reactions; slight excitement, blah and ‘fear’ from the Mrs. The ‘fear’ was based on seeing other individuals go into business and fail to such an extent that their personal assets are affected. Hence my decision for setting up my business as an LLC. I also informed them about the projects I would like them to work on. And will follow-up on that once I’ve done my own homework, so to speak.
I am woefully behind on articles. I have one about written and the second about 60% completed but really need to fine tune by incorporating pictures and other beautification tools. So despite the delay, there is progress. I really want to commit to hitting this for an hour a day, maybe 90 minutes as that will progressively drive results. My advice to myself is to ‘Stay frustrated young man and continue to force the inertia away’. Oh yes almost forgot my idea for another site that documents this process. The focus would be my journey to drive away financial and mindset inertia resulting in earning $1 / day perpetually…or something to that effect.
